Fact-Checking and Source Policy
Our verification requirements and source hierarchy.
Source hierarchy
We prefer legislation, official government and EU publications, regulators, courts, public datasets, named organisations and direct company announcements. Independent reputable reporting may provide confirmation and context.
High-risk topics
Visa, legal, financial, health, security and political claims require stronger verification and clear limits. Anonymous claims and social posts alone are not sufficient for automatic publication.
Quotes and numbers
Quotes, statistics, dates, names and monetary values must not be invented. Conflicting claims should be disclosed or held for further review.
